Unleashing Videos

The wiki Video plugin doesn't support independently hosted content but we can often show it by crafting our own <video> tag in the HTML plugin as we have done before. site

Here we attempt to view a .mov file from a Google Drive recommended for sharing videos.

We choose "get link" from Drive's right-button menu. This presents a sharing dialog.

We choose "share with anyone" and then press the "copy link" button. This is the link provided: link

We insert this in the video tag demonstrated but it doesn't work. We try various versions of the link changing suffix info after the .mov file suffix. No luck here either.

I add a black border so we can tell what we are not seeing.

The Drive link wants to provide its own viewer. We will try giving it some space to do its own thing in our Frame plugin. It says no: drive.google.com refused to connect.
