A Switchyard of Methods

We imagine methods with a beginning, middle and end. Maybe they have many middles or looping middles. But we believe any method derives from experience that will be incomplete in the face of all surprise.

We suggest that a collection of clear methods could be the solution so long as one could switch quickly between methods without discarding work in progress when one fails to address the situation at hand but there is a clear path to another.

A switch need not be more disorinting than a pair switching driver and navigator. The key is to have some familiarity with all paths forward.
